Baby Shower - Finale

For time's sake, today's post is heavy on photos, light on words.  As you scroll down you will see just how generous my family and friends were to Jay, Colleen and my grandson.  It was really quite overwhelming and I am so grateful to be surrounded by them all.

On to the photos...

Baby Shower - Food

I am still trying to work my way through all of the baby shower photos. Today I'll share photos showing the setup and food.

We had to remove furniture to make room for seating.  (For those interested, that doorway in the back of the photo leads to JulieWorld.)

Same table, viewed from my front door.  On the left side you can see the sangria and mimosa beverage bar.  (Around here, it's not a party without some sort of alcohol.)

My dining room served as table #2.  There was also a 3rd table on my lanai. (Not shown)

Upon entering we asked the guests to sign the guest book (providing their snail mail addresses) and play along with the "guess how many" game.  My sis ended up being the closest (almost 650 peanut and plain M&Ms) and was rewarded with the baby bottle full of candies.

Now let's talk food.  O.M.G.  I was so afraid we wouldn't have enough but I shouldn't have worried. My dear friend and party planner extraordinaire, Kelley, prepared most of the food as well as provided the beautiful table set ups.  On the menu we had...

Spiral Ham (prepared by Kelley)
White Chicken Chili (prepared by my father)
Suppa Toscana (Kelley)
Au Gratin Potatoes (Kelley)
Pasta Penne...both white and red sauces (Kelley)
Turkey Spinach Quiche (prepared by myself)
Ham and Cheese Quiche (Kelley)
French Toast Casserole (Kelley)
Asian Salad (prepared by my friend Tre)
Green Salad (prepared by my mother)
Fruit Plate (mom)
Veggie Plate (courtesy of Sam's Club)
Greek Dip (myself)
Nacho Dip (prepared by my friend Elaine)
Tater Tots (yeah, I baked them....losing my bracelet in the oven during the peeking process.  LOL!)
Rolls (Sister Schubert's frozen...Best.Rolls.Ever.)

Everything was absolutely delicious.  Now for some photos....

As if that weren't enough, I did tons of baking that week.  Everything, with the exception of the cupcakes, were made from scratch.  (I add a package of dry instant pudding to the mixture and they really can't be beat.)

Pumpkin Bread
Cinnamon Bread
Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins
Blueberry Streusel Muffins
Cupcakes (Vanilla and Chocolate)

I also picked up a cheesecake sampler from Sam's which turned out to be phenomenal.

I'll try to get my final post, featuring my friends and family, completed before Thanksgiving.   Until then, thanks for stopping by!

Baby Shower - Part 2

In continuation of my last post, today I'd like to share more of the decor that I created for the baby shower.  Once again, in keeping with the jungle theme, I started by creating this cute set of animals using cut files from the Silhouette store.  I made three of each design.  So.  Darned. Cute.

These cute critters were the focal point of much of my decor which included three diaper cakes (the monkey one shown here) ....

I also made two really cute diaper wreaths for the front porch ....

As an aside, this was the front porch greeting to guests...

And lastly, the critters were front row and center on a banner that was visible upon entering the front door. (My apologies for the bad Iphone photo.)  They were hung from crepe paper using tiny clothes pins. Jay and Colleen loved them so much they took them home for nursery decor.  :-)

I think that pretty much concludes the handmade decor.  In my next post I'll share some photos from the day.
