Charging Through 2009

Meg was home from school yesterday with the start of a cold.  She was feeling really crummy this morning but did head back in.  I have my doubts as to whether she'll make it all day so I'm sticking pretty close to home and my phone.

I've been cranking out the older pages, all due to the Scrapbook Generation page kits I've mentioned in previous posts.  Here are a few more pages from 2009 photos.

I took some liberties with their sketches for these first three single page layouts.

I gathered up some random photos from early 2009 to do this double page spread.  The addition of the title lettering was my only addition/alteration for this particular page kit design.

One more page to share, this time with more recent photographs.  I found these on Meg's phone.  :-)

Tacky Twin Day

Meg's school had a Tacky Twin Day contest this week.  The kids were allowed to pair off with a friend, ditch their required collared shirts and have fun dressing alike.  Meg had already paired up with a friend when another one approached her at the last minute so the three of them decided to be Tacky Triplets for the day.  After digging through stashes and a couple of trips to the mall this is what they finally came up with.

Headbands and mustache suspenders from Claire's, red sequined shirts (clearanced at $3.99), skinny jeans, black shoes, disposable 3D glasses and mustache tattoos.

So on Wednesday there were three thin blond girls walking around campus looking just like this.  I wish I could have seen all of them together.

I found out later that Meg and her friends made it to the finals (top 5) of the contest, only to be beat out by two eighth grade boys very tackily dressed as girls.  In Meg's words, "They were a disgrace to women everywhere!"  She did say that their photo may appear in the yearbook so I might just be able to see them all together after all.

A Few More Pages

As promised, here are a few more of my recent layouts.  (Recently finished, not necessarily recent photos.)  These are all of my own design.

I'll start with my least favorite, not because of the subject matter, but because of the page design.  It was so much better in my head.

Another 2009 photo.  I'm really happy with the way this one turned out...

And lastly, some photos from this past December.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Recent Layouts

I have some JulieWorld creations to share today but I do have a slight confession to make. As some of you know, I have very few pages from our 2009-2010 years recorded.  To make playing catch-up easier I decided to enlist the help of page kits from Scrapbook Generation.  To be honest, why fellow hobbyists would choose to have others totally design their pages has always been a mystery to me.  After all, didn't we choose this hobby to have fun designing and creating?  Well, after using these pre-planned kits, I have come to appreciate "the other side" of scrapping.  A finished page, however it was designed, is better than blank one any 'ole day.

So here are the pages I completed, all using Scrapbook Generation page kits.

I'll share some JulieWorld originals in my next post.  TFL!!!
